We believe a home should breathe. Our collection features a thoughtfully selected range of high-quality, pre-owned decor—from the warmth of recycled timber to the soft textures of organic linens. Each piece is chosen for its story, its quality, and its ability to turn a house into a sanctuary.

It all started when…

It All Started When...

...we pitched a tent on a slope and watched the seasons change. Over the next 20 years, that humble retreat evolved into The Cabin Lorne—a sophisticated, open-plan sanctuary built by master craftsman Don Bennett.

We wanted to bring modern comfort to this wild setting, using a Nordic-inspired palette of white and warm timber to create a timeless interior. Today, the cabin sits amidst an extensive garden that leads down to ancient tree-fern gullies. It is a place built with reflection and joy, and we are delighted to have shared it with you.

Cabin

The Cabin is a hand built, open plan and fully self-contained space that sleeps two. It features a stylish timeless interior with many quality design pieces and is perfect for a serene getaway.

Bedroom

There is one luxury bedroom that has a plush Queen bed with luxury linen, a dresser with wardrobe and separated by linen curtains.

There is everything you could want to feel spoilt and have a romantic escape. If you’re a couple or travelling solo, the Cabin is the perfect haven to experience complete seclusion and privacy.

OPEN PLAN LIVING

Large windows that take in the views, morning light fills the room, night moons to enjoy.

Leather couch with soft luxurious cushions, coffee bench with cane chair luxury throws.

A cool nordic feel of soft whites, dining table for four with views of the ocean and forest.

The cooking facilities are extensive with an indoor and outdoor kitchen featuring European appliances throughout. There is a stainless steel outdoor BBQ and stainless steel benches, outdoor refrigeration and an entertaining bar with a recycled iron bark bench top. The setting overlooks Bass Strait with Port Phillip Head on the far horizon. A fully stocked pantry is available for your use.

For your entertainment there is a flat screen TV, and DVD player. We promote healthy living and therefore immerse yourself in the wonderful garden and views from ocean to mountain. So with G&T in hand relax with a book and let time pass.

You will always feel comfortable with either the reverse cycle heating and cooling and ceiling fan.

BATHROOM

There is separate bathroom with basin and stone shower and toilet. Natural soaps, shampoo, conditioner and sprays by Dindi Naturals are provided for your pleasure.

Wall heater for the cooler months.

Superior quality towels are provided:- bath towel, standard towel, hand towel, face was and bath mat.

Location

The Cabin is situated on the Erskine Falls Road 4 kilometres from the town of Lorne. It is wonderfully secluded, set amongst 6.5 acres of stunning European and Australian gardens, organic orchards and a large herb patches yet still close to the local beaches. The Cabin feature breathtaking ocean and forest views perfect for a dreamy escape.

The Cabin is ideal for couples to enjoy the natural environment and experience the Lorne hinterland region. After a long day exploring people can then retreat back to the serene private cabin.

An absolutely stunning property, we were blown away from the moment we arrived! With high expectations after these beautiful photos, the space itself is more breathtaking in person. The cabin is surrounded by a beautiful private garden, and is a short 6 minute drive from Lorne main beach. We extended our stay to one week to enjoy the getaway!
